PEOPLES FORD BOGHALL AND BATHGATE CALEDONIA PIPE BAND

In 1972 a group of Boghall residents decided to get together to create a local pipe band. They chose Bobby Allan, of Tropichen and Bathgate, as lead piper, and sought out any boys who wanted to join them through the local Courier newspaper.

They soon performed at the Peebles band competition, becoming Grade 4 champions despite their short experience, something that would be a common situation for them in every competition they entered.

Currently, the band includes bagpipes, drums, bass drums and other instruments, with which they continue to maintain their status as champions in the various competitions they enter, many of them world championships. They are also very proud of the fact that most of the people who join the band stay with them even for as long as 25 years.
