Algaire was born in 2019 with the desire to provide a new air to Asturian music, always starting from its tradition. Its repertoire mixes traditional and contemporary sounds, as well as collecting songs of all times and also their own, bringing this kind of music to audiences that are not familiar with it.
In their album Coral y Marea (2022), supported by 171 micro patrons, they collaborate with Xabier Díaz, José Manuel Tejedor, Guadi Galego and David Varela, among other great names of folk music.
After this release, they get several awards, including the AMAS Award to the best folk album in 2023 and the Camaretá Award to the Best Song in Asturian that same year.
