EILBHE

IRLANDA

Eilbhe are a trio of experienced Irish/Celtic folk musicians with strong academic and professional backgrounds. All three members are multi-instrumentalists: Caroline (concertina, vocals, guitar) holds a Master’s degree in Irish Traditional Music from the Irish World Academy at the University of Limerick and works as a professional musician in London; Maggie (tin whistle, mandolin, guitar, vocals) graduated with a First Class Honours BA in Irish Folk Music from the same institution and now works as a music teacher in Scotland; and Sinéad, a fiddle player from Monaghan (Ulster), is an Ulster Senior Fiddle Champion and a multiple All-Ireland Fleadh medal winner.

The group’s main aim is to promote and sustain the Irish folk music tradition by combining original compositions with the revival of traditional tunes and songs. Influenced by artists such as Sharon Shannon, Beoga and Planxty, Eilbhe present a repertoire that balances tradition and innovation.

The band takes its name from Sliabh Eilbhe in County Clare, where the three musicians first met in 2017 while working as resident performers in Lisdoonvarna. They have performed professionally in Ireland and Germany, and in 2024 appeared at the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival in Finland, where they delivered concerts and workshops.
