RAE, DALAMA and CARBALLIDO

For the first time in Ortigueira, the trio Rae, Dalama & Carballido arrives with a proposal that blends virtuosity and emotion, tradition and freshness. Formed by Scottish musician Freya Rae (flute, fiddle, and whistles), Pablo Dalama from Santiago de Compostela (bagpipes and whistles), and Migui Carballido from O Carballiño (bouzouki and percussion), this trio embodies a transnational meeting of Galician and Scottish folk traditions.

Their repertoire brings together traditional melodies and original compositions, performed with the deep musical connection forged over years of shared stages, sessions, and foliadas.

Freya Rae, active in the British folk scene, brings flute, fiddle, and a fresh recording project; Pablo Dalama, a skilled piper and multi-instrumentalist, stands out for his technical mastery and expressive style; and Migui Carballido completes the trio with his bouzouki and percussion, adding rhythmic drive and stage energy to this vibrant and contemporary performance.
