Guieldu was created at the end of 2019 as an initiative of Héctor Aneiros. It is currently formed by Susana Sors, Héctor Aneiros, Olaya Pérez, Jorge Álvarez, Laura Méndez, Pablo Santamarta and Rubén Cadenas.
It combines traditional Celtic music with prog-folk and new-age as well as elements of classical, metal, country or electronic music, among others. They take most of their inspiration from Asturian music, also drawing on Galician music and the international folk scene.
In 2022 they released their single L’Aremu with two tracks, and in 2023 the second one, also with two tracks, Perdayuri, which they included in their candidacy to Runas this year. L’Aremu was awarded as the Best Folk Song 2022 at the AMAS Awards 2023.
