Born in A Coruña, Xabier Díaz embarks on a journey through Galicia compiling songs and music from rural women that then gathers in his records to which he gives a personal touch along with this traditional style.
With As Catedrais Silenciadas, Xabier completes the trilogy he created with Aldufeiras de Salitre with the the albums Noró and The Tambourine Man. According to him, there was no village in Galicia left to visit during their creation.
Together with them, he obtains several prizes and personal records, like remaining in the Top Ten of the World Music Charts Europe for three consecutive months, or getting into the Top of the World of the Songlines magazine from August to September 2020, the inclusion of the song Amiga sempre in the compilation album Great Tunes From The World Music Charts Europe, of WMCE, the most prestigious global list of the world endorsed by critics from more than 20 countries, or the Martín Codax Award in 2020 in the category of Traditional Music.
