ANXO LORENZO & EOGHAN NEFF

GALICIA & IRLANDA

With more than 20 years of experience, Anxo Lorenzo is one of the most prolific bagpipe players of the Galician scene. He has three studio albums, Tirán (2009), Confuxon (2014) and Vortex (2018), as well as several collaborations with musicians such as Kathryn Tickell, Carlos Núñez, Lúnasa, The Chieftains, Fred Morrison, Michael McGoldrick, Alisdair Fraser, or Celtas Cortos.

A bagpipe virtuoso, he has won awards such as ‘Best Galician Artist’ at the XVIII Gala de los Premios Opinión Da Música de Raíz, the XX Folkherbst Festival or the Macallan of the Lorient Interceltic Festival award, among others.

For the last 15 years he has had a project with Eoghan Neff called Eghanxo. Eoghan (called “extreme fiddler” by Folk World) is an expert in performing live looping based on traditional Irish melodies. Like Anxo, he seeks to experiment, create new nuances and expand folk horizons by fusing styles and improvising in his concerts.
