FOUR MEN AND A DOG

IRLANDA

Four Men and a Dog performed at the Belfast Folk Festival in 1990 with energetic traditional Irish melodies and a joyful attitude that invited the audience to participate by dancing and clapping their hands.

Over their 30 year career, their formation had some changes. Currently, it is formed by Gino Lupari, Kevin Doherty, Cathal Hayden, Stephen Hayden and Donal Murphy, who combine their folk roots with country, blues, polka and even rap, among many other genres.

They released six albums: Barking Mad (1991), Shifting Gravel (1993), Doctor A’s Secret Remedies (1995), Long Roads (1996), Maybe Tonight (2002) and Wallop the Spot (2008). The first one was awarded as Best Album in 1991 in the Folk Roots magazine, the first time an Irish group received this award.
