MEC LIR

Mec Lir first appeared in the Celtic music scene in 2014 with the album Not an EP, released at the Lorient Interceltic Festival.

The band, from the Isle of Man, is known for their fast and cheerful way of playing, performing in festivals all over the world and getting a great number of visits in social networks, where they accumulate 2,5 million views in just one video.

With entertainment as their main objective, they publish two singles in 2016, and compose and record Limewire (2020) for three years, taking advantage of the pandemic to make it something “really special”. They said that without synthesizers, drums and bass, Mec Lir has “traditional melodies that can be accepted even by the most traditional of session musicians” at its core.
