JDC

JDC is the musical project of Jesús del Castillo, a Madrid-based bagpiper and multi-instrumentalist specializing in the fusion of Celtic music and contemporary electronics. Trained in the Galician tradition from an early age, he has developed an innovative artistic approach that combines traditional instruments such as the Galician bagpipe, the Scottish bagpipe, and the uilleann pipes with new technologies and electronic soundscapes.

Recognized for his pioneering work with the electronic bagpipe, JDC has forged a distinctive style that bridges the Atlantic musical heritage with contemporary sensibilities. Winner of the Runas competition in 2022, he has performed at leading festivals and established himself as one of the most original acts on the new Celtic music scene, noted for both the quality of his compositions and the energy of his live performances. He returns to the Festival with a renewed proposal as one of the three finalists of the 2026 Runas Competition.
