Leni Pérez & SeKadra brings together the voice and tambourine of one of the leading figures in Galician traditional music with the contemporary vision of the duo formed by Arturo Rúa and Paulo Silva. The project creates a sonic bridge between Galician folk heritage and modern musical languages such as jazz, Brazilian music, and contemporary improvisation.
Through an elegant and innovative approach, the trio combines oral tradition, research, and artistic creation, generating an organic dialogue between Galicia’s musical memory and new sonic landscapes. Their repertoire draws on the fieldwork and song collections gathered by Leni Pérez over decades, reinterpreted through SeKadra’s creative freedom and musical sensitivity.
In 2026, they present Xa non ten ferriñas, a new album that redefines the boundaries of folk music and highlights the enduring ability of tradition to engage with the present.
