XARA

Xara is a recently formed folk band from Madrid made up of four musicians brought together by their shared passion for the traditional music of the Atlantic arc. Although each member comes from a different musical background, they first met during Madrid’s Irish sessions, where the foundations of the project were born, connecting Iberian traditions with the music of Ireland and Scotland.

Their sound combines deep respect for tradition with a fresh and contemporary approach to European folk music. The band reached the finals of the international Fiddle of London competition and was selected for La Caixa’s “Microconciertos 2025” concert series in Madrid.

In 2025, Xara won both the Runas competition at the Festival Internacional do Mundo Celta de Ortigueira and the Folkez Blai contest in Ermua, establishing themselves as one of the most promising emerging folk acts in Spain.
